Cosmarium subquadrans West & G.S.West 1905

An acidophile from moorland pools, bogs and disused peat-cuttings. John et al (2011) record only one sample from Sutherland; West & West (1905) have records from Westmoreland and Ireland. It would seem to be rare in the Outer Hebrides.
