Staurastrum cyrtocerum J. Ralfs 1848

First described and illustrated in Ralfs (1848: 139, pl. 22: 10). A larger and more robust species than closely related St. inflexum. The convergent processes are a typical characteristic.
Cell dimensions: L: 23-39 µm; B: 29-45 µm.; Is: 7.0-9.0 µm.
Infrequently found in mainly acidic conditions such as bogs and moorland pools.
