Cosmarium incommodum F.A.C. Kouwets 2025

A recently described small cell mainly characterised by reniform and slightly depressed semicells. There are several newly described similar species than need careful consideration. See Kouwets (2025) for a detailed analysis.
Single cell dimensions: L: 18.3 µm; B: 18.7 µm; Is: 5.7 µm; Th: 10.4 µm; L/B: 0.98.
Found in slightly acidic to mildly alkaline waters. Distribution in the Outer Hebrides unknown due to earlier confusion with similar species.
