Cosmarium jemtlandicoides  M. Schreijer & F.A.C. Kouwets 2025

A newly described species from the oligo-mesotrophic waters in the Netherlands. It needs to be compared with another recently described species from the Netherlands: Cosmarium obscurum Schreijer & Kouwets 2025, which is slightly larger.
Single cell dimensions: L. 41.9 µm; B. 38.8 µm; Is. 12.5 µm; Th. c.24 µm; L/B. 1.08.
The Outer Hebridean sample came from semi-permanent rainwater pools in a disused quarry.
