This newly described species is part of a complex of similar-looking taxa. The semicells are subpyaramidal in outline and have ten undulations per semicell in face view. It needs to be carefully compared with C. impressuliforme Kouwets 2025, which has eight undulations per semicell in face view. There are intermediates which are impossible to distinguish.
Cell dimensions: L. 19-25.7 µm; B. 14-22 µm; Is. 4.5-8.2 µm; Th. 13-14 µm; L/B. 1.2-1.5.
Fairly common in slightly alkaline, mesotrophic water such as ephemeral floodplains.
