Staurastrum clevei (V.B. Wittrock) J. Roy 1893
First described and illustrated by Wittrock (1869: 18, fig. 9) as Staurastrum laeve var. clevei. It was later raised to species level by (Roy 1893: 179). Usually found as a tri-radiate cell.
Cell dimensions: L. 35-60 µm, B. 40-55 µm, Is. 9-11 µm.
Found in the margins of shallow lochs. It was scarce in the Wests' (1923: 177) time and now possibly rare.
