Closterium intermedium J. Ralfs 1848
Similar to Cl. abruptum but that species has finer striae and is narrower, almost without overlap. Striae in this species usually falls between 5-8 per 10 µm.
Cell dimensions: L: 220-330 µm; B: 19.5-29 µm; Ap: 6-11 µm; L/B: 8-17.
Fairly common in moorland pools, Sphagnum bogs and vegetated loch-margins.
