Staurastrum micron W. & G.S. West 1896
First described and illustrated by West & West (1896: 159, pl. 4: 50-51). In their later flora, West, West & Carter (1923: 123) give few records for England and none for Scotland.
Overall cell dimensions: L: 15-25 µm; B: 20-29 µm; Is: 5-7 µm.
Found in loch-margins and shallow pools but rarely recorded.
