Staurastrum bohlinianum W. Schmidle 1898

First described and illustrated by Schmidle (1898: 53, pl. 3: 3). Named for Knut Harald Bohlin (1869-1956), Swedish botanist and phycologist. A small cell covered in small denticulations, more pronounce at the lateral angles.
Cell dimensions: L: 20-24 µm; B: 20-27 µm; Is: 8.2-9.5 µm.
A seemingly rare species found in slightly acidic condition such as moorland bogs and vegetated loch-margins.
