Trochiscia reticularis (P.F. Reinsch) A. Hansgirg 1888
First described and illustrated by Reinsch (1886: 241, pl. 11: figs 12, 14) as Acanthococcus reticularis. It was soon after move to its current position by Hansgirg (1888: 129). Cells spherical covered in polygonal ridges.
Cell dimensions: D: 13-32 µm.
Scarcely recorded but probably more common. Found in pools and lochans with a fairly neutral pH.
