Ceratium carolinianum (J.W. Bailey) L. Maggi 1880
First described and illustrated by Bailey (1851: 41, pl. 3: 4-5) as Peridinium carolinianum. It was later moved to its current position by Maggi (1880: 12). Widespread in moorland acidic pools and bogs.
