Pediastrum angulosum C.G. Ehrenberg ex G. Meneghini 1890
First described by Ehrenberg in Meneghini (1840: 210) but not illustrated. Of the Pediastrum species, this is the only one to show marked angularity of the cells.
Coenobia spherical with 8, 16, 32, 64 & 128 cells: diameters: 60-320 µm.
Marginal cells: 10-36 µm across.
A rare species found in the plankton of acidic pools and bogs.
