Nitophyllum punctatum (Stackhouse) Greville, 1830
A delicate, veinless, alga with translucent pink fronds. Variable in shape; long and membranous, simple or deeply divided. Often found covered in spots (reproductive sori). Found in intertidal pools in winter and early spring, on rocks or epiphitic on other seaweeds, when it is most obvious. Virtually all Outer Hebridean records have be recorded from the east coast
